With all the news of Brexit and Britain divorcing itself from the EU, I’m pleased to report the happy union of two Britons at a Manly wedding!
Dan and Helen both made the 17,000km journey from the UK to Sydney at different times, but their paths crossed in Manly. So a Manly wedding was the obvious choice, surrounded by their friends who have become known as the “Manly Family”. But the huge distance between them and their families back home didn’t matter because we had both sets of parents with us via Skype for the wedding ceremony. I love when we can use technology like this to bring everyone together for the pivotal moments in our lives. The world gets smaller all the time.
As we were planning the ceremony, both Helen and Dan joked that they both had to travel to the other side of the world to find the love of their life. So on a sunny yet slightly chilly winter’s afternoon, we gathered on the lawn of the Sergeants Mess on North Head for a really relaxed and intimate celebration of everything they have achieved together.
Afterwards, Dan and Helen emailed to say, “We both wanted to thank you again for being so fantastic, both in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself. The ceremony was perfect in every way… all of our guests and the folks back home are still raving about it, and we couldn’t be happier! “
And when I get emails like that, nor could I.
Dan and Helen were married at Milestone Events in Manly.
