After walking around in platform shoes dressed as Elvis, I have renewed respect for anyone who can walk in big heels!
Sometimes couples ask what I plan to wear for their wedding. Robby and Sarah didn’t need to ask me. They had a very special request. Would I mind dressing up for an Elvis wedding? They went on to explain that Sarah always wanted Elvis to marry them. When Robby suggested it, the answer was….. YES! And I’d have to have a Wooden Heart to say no. I’m here to help people get married in whatever way they want to, and I’m always game for a laugh!
It says a lot about Sydney when you can walk from your car to the restaurant dressed as The King and nobody gives you a second look! As the guests arrived we had fun posing for photos as I adjusted my massive black wig. It actually helped keep me warm because it was a chilly early evening. The guests heard Elvis was coming but none of them really quite believed that was actually happening….. until they saw me!
I was very pleased to see Sydney Wedding Photographer Lucas Kraus when I arrived. We’ve worked together previously and always does an amazing job. He made me laugh – because I had the wig and costume on, it took him a moment or two to recognise me :)
The Wonder Of You
And then it was Now or Never for a Little Less Conversation as we celebrated The Wonder Of You. (Robby loves puns, and I hate to disappoint!) And I got to say the line, “By the authority vested in me by Elvis (and by the legal authority vested in me by the laws of Australia) I can now declare that you are husband and wife.”
And the hired costume? Well, it was Return To Sender…
Robby and Sarah were married at Café Morso in Pyrmont.
Thanks to Sydney Wedding Photographer Lucas Kraus Photography for the photo.
