Everything about Lauren and Heath’s wedding was spot on – an awesome couple, the perfect date, and a brilliant location…. an antique fairground!
When I first met Lauren and Heath, I knew it was going to be a very special wedding. When you get two talented, artistic and creative people together, it always turns out to be far beyond expectations. These two are the perfect team, encouraging and supportive of each other, and very much in love.
They told me they had chosen an unusual place to get married (which always gets me excited) – an antique fairground hidden away in an industrial area of Sydney. On rehearsal night, my sat nav took me to the address, but at first I thought I’d got it wrong. I was outside an industrial unit, no signs, in darkness, nothing to suggest the wonders of what lay behind the doors. But as I got out of the car I knew I must be in the right spot because there was a strong smell of popcorn! Inside was the most amazing sight. A series of fairground rides and organs which form a private collection. And when they were lit up and playing, it blew you away.
Lauren and Heath couldn’t have picked a better day either – the same date they got together, the same date they got engaged, and now the date they got married. They have no excuse to forget their anniversary now!
On the day, Lauren took everyone’s breath away as she walked down the red carpet. She looked stunning. Heath’s face as he waited for her at the front said it all. Their ceremony reflected their personalities perfectly as we told their love story. When I declared them to be husband and wife, the whole place erupted with cheering and clapping, and then the huge pipe organ we were standing in front of burst into life – playing the theme from Star Wars.
Congratulations Heath and Lauren – it was such a privilege to marry you. And I’ve never been called a “word wizard” before – thank you for a great compliment!
