Pink flamingos, blue pineapples, a stripy rug and more tambourines and maracas that you could shake a stick (or maraca) at – welcome to Nev and Karen’s colourful ceremony!
Some weddings you just KNOW are going to be a lot of fun. As soon as Karen and Nev told me everyone would be shaking their maracas when they walked down the aisle, I knew this was going to be a treat! Everything about their ceremony was colourful and noisy which created a proper party atmosphere. And that is exactly how they wanted their wedding to be – a celebration from start to finish.
Big, bright and brash – even down to the bright red lipstick – these two really made the day their own. And it was so joyful to be part of.
Timing can be everything at a wedding. It was a hot, sultry afternoon and a storm was brewing on the horizon. All very dramatic which I guess was very appropriate! Minutes after the guests made their way to the marquee for the wedding breakfast… KA-BOOM… a massive thunder and lightning storm.
But I’m sure I could still hear those maracas – even over the sound of the thunder!
Nev and Karen were married at Sydney College of the Arts, Rozelle.
