The Rocks is Sydney’s most historic area. We’ve added to that record by holding the first wedding in one of the area’s heritage listed buildings.
Bruce and James have been together for 21 years. Their enduring love is an inspiration to everyone. Back in 1999 they had a commitment ceremony in Byron Bay. Thanks to Marriage Equality, I’ve finally been able to legally marry them an an intimate and personal wedding ceremony.
Back in 1999, they made these vows to each other. “I promise to be open, honest and true. To honour, support and love you always. I give myself to you with all my heart.” They had kept those words on a scrap of paper tucked into a photo frame with a picture of that day. Fast forward to 2018 and surrounded by family and friends, they reaffirmed those promises to each other as they legally united their lives in marriage. Bruce even wore the same shirt he had on in Byron!
Bruce and James chose one of my Kiss Me Quick Gold wedding packages – a really flexible ceremony and venue deal that makes getting married and having a party super-easy, fun and affordable. They married at The Australian Wine Emporium, a heritage building. It was history in the making too, because it was the first wedding ceremony to be held there. Afterwards everyone stayed on for the party, celebrating with a canapés and drinks package.
