I love how I get to forge special connections to different generations – keeping it in the family. Last year I married the mum, this weekend I married her daughter -not as weird as that first sounds!
Having that continuity for big events in the family is very special, and a real privilege to be asked. So I was really happy when Kyle and Bek asked me to be their celebrant too. They have been together since they were teenagers and have shared many milestones together, from significant birthdays to big life events. So we had no shortage of things to talk about during their wedding!
The vows they wrote to each other were heartfelt and eloquent. There wasn’t anyone who wasn’t moved by them – I saw lots of tissues coming out!
And of course, I got to catch up with Kim and Stephen too and get a photo with all of us together again.
On the same theme, I’ve just been asked by a couple I married last year to join them again and name their new baby. So those links to the generations keep on coming!
Kyle and Bek were married at Breakfast Point Community Hall, NSW.
