Andy and Lizzy
I always say that a wedding should be the best party you’ve been to, and Andy and Lizzy took that on board – and made their ceremony really personal in the process!
Their wedding at Athol Hall in Mosman overlooking Sydney Harbour had touches of Mexico, which is where they got engaged. So to get everyone involved and to create the party atmosphere, everyone was given maracas to shake when Lizzy arrived, and at various points in the ceremony. Her upbeat entrance song was full of drums and she certainly got the party started when she walked in!
Maraca moments
There’s nothing worse at a wedding than rows of guests sitting in silence and so I always encourage people to show their excitement in whatever way they wish – clapping, cheering, laughing, crying. And so the maracas set the scene, with many a maraca moment following as people threw themselves into the spirit. It was brilliant! I wish I could make maracas mandatory at every marriage. So at the risk of maxing out my alliteration…. Andy and Lizzy had multiple memorable maraca marriage moments in Mosman!
The other thing that made this very special for me was that Andy and I work together, so to be able to marry someone you know is a wonderful thing. Congratulations you two!
Andy and Lizzy were married at Athol Hall, Mosman, NSW.
