Martin and Ceci are a couple very much in harmony with each other, so how better to celebrate their wedding than with a special Slovakian song?
The thing I love about writing wedding ceremonies is that they are all so uniquely personal. Every couple is different so every wedding that I’m privileged to be part of is different too. Martin and Ceci’s ceremony celebrated their love by celebrating their different backgrounds. With Martin from Slovakia, and Ceci from China, we fused their cultures and traditions by inviting a close friend to sing a traditional folk song in her native language.
Ceci looked stunningly beautiful. As she walked gracefully towards us, I looked at Martin. He couldn’t take his eyes off her and the expression of adoration on his face said it all. I felt very humble that they’d chosen me to officiate at their marriage and it gave me so much pleasure to be able to say… “I now pronounce you husband and wife!”.
Just as they’d signed the register, a plane flew low overhead in what I am sure was a special flypast. The timing was perfect – just don’t ask me to organise that for everyone!
Martin and Ceci were married in Davidson Park, Forestville
